January 2023: Release To Breakthrough For 2023!

With January, we arrive at the last month of the Water Tiger Year before the Water Rabbit officially hops in next month.
It is a crucial month indeed as the January Water Ox month is not only the final “checkpoint” of the year - but its importance as a “final judgment ” portal is multiplied manifold at the culmination of this powerful Water Tiger year AND after these past few years of intense transformational energies.
Firstly, with every December and January annually, the energy is anchored towards a reflection of the year just passed and what we wish to carry forth into each New Year (and by the same token, what we seek to release) - hence the proliferation of the tradition of the New Year’s resolutions. Additionally, while the Water Tiger 2022 year has been focussed on establishing as strong a foundation as possible for the next 12 years - in order so we can thrive for maximum success in Period 9 - the year’s shadow energy has been about the remnants of the past, unresolved issues or attachments which if unresolved, result in stagnating energy blockages that will limit what we desire to achieve.
This shadow energy is brought to light in the final month of the Water Ox, resulting in a final judgment of sorts; whatever that can finally be resolved and released will free up energy that we can harness to our productive best in 2023. On the other hand, whatever that is not will continue to weigh down upon us until it is finally dissolved, hopefully sometime.

Astrologically-speaking, the past several months actually has led us to this final checkpoint of January. The month of the Water Ox (January 6 - February 3) is preceded not only by the deeply reflective energies of the Water Rat December month, but also the start of another cycle of Mercury Retrograde that began on December 29, adding another layer of contemplative energy to the month - marking a culmination to the prolonged review period that began in the autumn months.
The start of the Water Ox month is gifted with 2 additional boosts - one from the opening day of January 6 - a “Heavenly Noble” Wood Rat day which is truly auspicious for closure to enable absolute new beginnings. The 2nd boost is the potent energy of the Full Moon on January 6 / 7 that grounds all our outward efforts to build a successful life in Period 9 with the importance of care, nurturance & a sense of family / community in all our key endeavours.

As such, this Water Ox month is truly important for us to finally be able to resolve any lingering issues or even more importantly, release any deep-seated life patterns that keep us locked within the old lifestyle and limitations that likely have existed prior to 2020. Keeping stuck within these energy vibration will stagnate us, killing the growth that our individual souls require. Breaking out of these limiting patterns, on the other hand, will free us up to new potentials in life. Once we do this, the energy released can function as a resource that will feed & grow the opportunities, potential and plans that lay in front for us in the exciting Water Rabbit Year!
This is a “deep-search” month; a time to really be deliberate with our plans, decisions and upcoming action - especially those that we have been contemplating for some time. While it has indeed been a prolonged period, let us be inspired by the potent finality of this month to figure out what has perplexed us all this time, the option that we finally need to decide upon or the concrete next step of the idea(s) that keep playing on our minds.
The key to finally getting the answer you’ve been seeking, deriving the solution you’ve been looking for or deciding on what action to take - truly lies in your heart. What in life are you most passionate about? What drives and motivates you from day to day? What excites and inspires you? What will you energetically get out of bed for every day, even though there is no direct reward in it? These are some of the types of questions you can pose to yourself in making your decisions.

January 2023 will begin with a BANG with our annual Feng Shui & Astrology Talks 2023: JUMPING OUT OF THE RABBIT HOLE in Cantonese on January 7 and English on January 8, 2023. Our founder - Jessie Lee- will present the outlook, strategies and insights on managing your best 2023 during these full-day sessions, so do hurry to register in case you still haven’t!
